I have just been recommended to try the Piano Tuner software and downloaded the Shareware version. It installed on my MacBook and when trying to run it to try it, the operation was constantly interrupted with a Not Now or Register window.

I chose not now. But when I tried to see how it works the program stopped working and told me to close and reopen it or Register. So I chose to close and re open but then it wouldn't give any readout for an input. The Volume level showed an input was being received but nothing indicated on the Note Name or +/- sharp flat gauge.

Can anyone tell me how we are supposed to evaluate the program if it won't let you use it to try it?
I'd happily register and purchase but I can't agree to buy something that won't even let me use a stripped down or limited featured version of it.

Is there something I'm doing wrong and it should be started up in a different way perhaps?
Thanks

Answering my own question in part, I thought I'd put a reply up here for anyone who is watching this question for an answer.

I closed the program and reopened it and then changed it from Manual tuning to Automatic. That brought back the Pitch Monitor read-out.

However, the impracticality of having the program interrupt the use of it, by throwing that Register and Not Now window renders it completely un-usable and impossible to get any continuity as you work.

So I guess I'm saying I want it to work like proper shareware or trial copies and it doesn't. It would probably be best if I duplicate this question on the Piano Tuner Support forum heading.
